If you are:
Telecommunication/ICT Regulator, Broadcasting Authority/ Ministry of Telecommunications/Communications/Technology
Hold public consultations with persons with disabilities and disabled persons organizations on developing accessibility policies and regulations
Promote availability of accessible ICTs:
cell phones, including with predictive text and speech-to-text and text-to-speech functions
public phones, placed in accessible locations and at accessible heights for people in wheelchairs
fixed line phones, including Relay services for the deaf
broadcasting services, including TV closed captioning for the deaf and/or sign language interpretation
web sites, including those designed for use with screen readers
Lead others to adopt accessible web sites by ensuring your own web site is accessible
Encourage/promote (industry, private sector etc.) to develop/produce assistive technologies and related ICT equipment for persons with disabilities
In coordination with other sectors of government:
Accessible e-government web sites as per W3C-WAI standards and promotion of accessible private web sites
Accessible electronic documents across all areas of government
Accessible emergency communications for disaster management (in coordination with Ministry of Interior, Homeland Department)
Use of universal service/access funds to support ICT accessibility programs, e.g., in schools and vocational training centres
Collect disaggregated data on ICT use by disability and type of ICT
Fund the customization of basic assistive technologies tools in local language including text to speech, voice recognition and screen readers (in coordination with Ministry of Education)
Require any public procurement of ICTs to purchase accessible ICT
Provisions for reasonable accommodation for the work place
